An AI-powered warehouse inventory drone automates recurring inventory verification by flying through warehouse aisles, scanning QR or barcode labels, and confirming stock and pallet locations with less manual checking.
The drone follows predefined flight paths between warehouse racks and autonomously captures QR or barcode data from selected locations. Its flight configuration is adapted to the warehouse’s aisle layout, rack height, and rack dimensions, allowing inventory checks to be repeated consistently across scheduled missions.
No new GPS or warehouse Wi-Fi infrastructure is required for standard deployment. The drone operates indoors without GPS and follows predefined missions configured for the warehouse layout. Initial setup mainly involves measuring aisle and rack dimensions, configuring missions, and performing site calibration.
The best fit is a standard warehouse with clear aisles, consistent rack geometry, readable inventory labels, and controllable airflow. Current deployment guidelines include aisles of at least 2 meters, rack heights up to 20 meters, rack layers of at least 0.6 meters, clear flight zones, and airflow below 5 m/s. Loose wrapping, hanging materials, or other obstacles should not extend into the drone’s flight path.
The solution is currently validated for standard warehouse environments between 10°C and 45°C, with or without air conditioning. Warehouses below 10°C and extremely dusty environments are not currently recommended and should be evaluated separately before deployment.
QR codes are currently the preferred labeling method because they provide more reliable drone-based identification when properly sized and consistently positioned. The current guideline is a QR or barcode module size of at least 3 mm. One-dimensional barcodes can also be scanned, but they generally require larger labels and are not the preferred option when very high detection reliability is required.
After a mission, inventory results can be reviewed through the platform, uploaded, or connected to the client’s WMS. This allows recurring inventory verification to move away from manual data entry and become part of a more structured warehouse inventory workflow.
